Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup
  • 1 Tab vanilla
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 3 Tablespoons Apple concentrate if you have it
  • 5 cups milk
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup wheat germ
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter

Step by Step method

    Step 1.

    add the buttermilk and eggs.

    Step 2.

    Make a well in the center of the flour-butter mixture

    Step 3.

    Mix until the mixture has a sand-like consistency.

    Step 4.

    Cut the butter into small pieces with a knife, and add the butter to the flour-mixture.

    Step 5.

    Stir until the liquids are fully incorporated.

    Step 6.

    In a food processor or in a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, white flour, wheat germ or oats, baking powder, baking soda, brown sugar, and salt.
